I always think of Canada as the lovechild of England and France after they had a drunken one night stand and England just left it to grow up with its big brother America who was like the rebel of the family.

When boys of the Shan tribe undergo the ritual “Poi Sang Long”, the focal point lies in, what in the Western world would be described as, “feminine values”. They are dressed up in bright colours and adorned with make-up. The aim is to mimic the young Prince Siddhartha before he became Lord Buddha. Even though the purpose of the ritual is to show that the boys are on their way to become mature and responsible men, it is loaded with aesthetic values and free from any physical trials. This is what sets it apart from other typical male rituals. By Ken Bamberg

This is visually stunning.

my grandma put a little piece of her birthday cake in the garbage can and i was like why the heck did you do that and she said “it’s important to leave some for the raccoons because what if it’s a raccoon’s birthday and no one remembers??”

Being nostalgic

remember in season 5 when Sam and Dean’s biggest trouble was against lucifer and the whole end of world thing? I mean it was hard times ( as usual ) but at least they had Bobby at a dial of numbers and Castiel was just beautiful and awkward and they were all fighting side by side. Completely trusting each other and what they believed in.

It was a time before there were damages and doubts and betrayals. Before the team was broken apart. Before there were manipulations and speculations on each other and silences grew because the right words cannot be found again.

And the sad part is that even though wounds can heal and scars will fade. They can never go back to what they were.

And maybe I am growing old and nostalgic and I’m just one of those people who don’t want to look to the future, but this thought makes me really sad.
